Most often, bad sound quality results not from bad technology, but the misapplication of technology. While studying recording trends related to equipment, forums, fads, business, and school programs, Jim discovered a huge discrepancy between affordable recording technology and engineering knowledge. The Pure Wave Recording Program was developed for this reason.
Jim has worked with and been taught by top mastering and recording engineers including Bobby Owinski (Jimi Hendrix, Elvis Presley, The Who, Paul Simon, Willie Nelson, Iron Maiden, The Ramones, Christopher Cross, George Winston) and Bob Ludwig's protege Adam Ayan (Linkin Park, Disturbed, Phish, Brian Setzer, Martina McBride, Wynonna, Bob Marley, Rush, LeAnn Rimes, and Tracy Chapman). He has also designed recording systems, recorded international concerts (Alicia Keys, Cyndi Lauper, Doyle Bramhall III), written for national audio magazines, and has beta-tested new products for pro audio manufacturers.
